衛福部長陳時中27日晚上8點與美國衛生及公共服務部長阿札爾(Alex Azar II)進行通話，雙方談了約半個小時。阿札爾除了感謝台灣捐贈口罩外，也肯定台灣在新型冠狀病毒(COVID-19)的防疫表現，美國將持續支持台灣擴大參與WHO與全球衛生事務，讓台灣可以與國際分享並貢獻衛生專業，促進全球衛生安全。
雙方在對談中，也提及持續深化並擴大台美在衛生領域的合作，尤其是新型冠狀病毒的疫苗、藥物研發與防疫物資等。(資料畫面)
